The Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium is located in the beautiful setting of Grand Marais, Michigan.  The historic Upper Peninsula village of Grand Marais is located on the south shore of Lake Superior at the eastern gateway to Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. This village is one of the oldest settlement sites on the Great Lakes and boasts a large protected harbor that is ideal for class sessions and skills practice.

 

Directions

Grand Marais is located west of I-75 on the north end of Highway 77; twenty-five miles north of Seney, Michigan, which is on the main east-west road, M-28.  From the South, take M-77 north to Grand Marais, continue to Brazel Street and turn left. The Recreation Center, where Symposium Check-In is held, and Woodland Park Campground are approximately 1/4 mile west of M-77 on the right side.
